Overview
Hotel Omm - from the mantric syllable "Ommmmmm" - has been designed with one thing in mind: relaxation. There is no artwork on the lobby walls, as the straight lines and plain materials of the design are in themselves works of art.
Designers
Sandra Tarruella and Isabel Lopez describe their creation as a restaurant with a hotel. It was designed with customer comfort in mind, but with the intention of creating a strong feeling of Barcelona, and all its urban simplicity.
History
Since it opened in 2002, Hotel Omm has been widely sought after by rock stars, actors and architects, who view the more classic hotels such as the Ritz as a tad passé.
Features
The Hotel Omm is built using traditional materials and shapes: stone facades, balconies onto
the street and an inside courtyard. The design is very functional, putting windows at an angle to preserve privacy on one hand, while at the same time allowing in floods of natural light. The rooms are full of understated grooviness. Crisp, yet comfy, the hotel boasts simple lines, a fine balance of colours and the use of natural materials without extravagance.
Hotel Omm is a member of Design Hotels.
