Klom, which is a mixture of sand, gravel and clay, is a traditional building material. Steve Wilson decided to use this blend for an extension to his house in Pembrokeshire, as he considered it important to keep everything as natural as possible, "and to let the building breathe."

It’s obvious that the local swallows agree, as a nest has appeared underneath the extension’s roof, also constructed from klom. Steve had made up the mixture and left it in front of the building, and so the birds took advantage of it to build their own home!
