Fact file
owner: Lisa Webb
location: Vale of Glamorgan
style: Romantic and Graceful
best feature: The Norman arches dominating the downstairs living space

This ancient gatehouse has close connections with the infamous White Lady of Glamorgan, whose ghost can sometimes be seen wandering the area.

But it’s the spirit of romance attached to the building that attracts Lisa. “The gatehouse’s history is steeped in romance,” she declares “and it still feels romantic today. I love the Norman arches in the lounge, and also the open log fire. And with a roll-top bath in the bedroom, I couldn’t ask for anything more.”

Combining a fantastically spacious open-plan area downstairs with intimate bedrooms upstairs, this home is really something special.
