“I know there’s something really kitsch about the seventies’ fashions but I think that’s the main appeal” says Beca. “Like the style, I certainly don’t like to take myself too seriously!”

“I liked the shape of this house. I though it suited my personality – a bit odd!” she adds. “I couldn’t live somewhere that felt really small because I’m a very social person and love having people around. I knew I wanted plenty of light and space and thought I could do something here.”

Beca is lucky to have an architect for a father and he certainly helped to draw up her plans and keep her within budget, giving her the space and light she craved for.

The downstairs is a huge open space with white floors, wooden flooring and spotlights with the retro fireplace, seventies furniture and bespoke bright designer chairs adding both impact and colour. An ideal place for parties, according to Beca, especially as the toilet (with its glittering toilet seat) and bathroom are also situated on the ground floor. The kitchen is compact, but it’s been stylishly kitted out by Beca with lots of chrome accessories.

Upstairs Beca has the perfect solution for hiding away all her clutter. She’s turned the third bedroom into a massive walk-in wardrobe which is stacked with her clothes, shoes and bags.
