Three people set out to build a traditional Welsh roundhouse in the Vale of Glamorgan, but only one of them managed to finish the job. The work took Dafydd William four years to complete, and he believes that he’s created a building which is embued with an especially peaceful atmosphere. He also describes the building as female, as it has no square edges!

This intriguing building was constructed soley from natural materials, such as bales of hay, a wickerwork of poles, and a lime plaster. The dwelling has a thatched roof and is very warm and cosy. Unfortunately this unique building does not planning have permission for anyone to live here, but Dafydd believes that creating it has been a rewarding, educational experience.
