3 Lle: Gwyneth Lewis

Wales' first National Poet is the guest this week. The poet and author, Gwyneth Lewis has become well known for writing the words that can be seen on the front of the Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay.

Brought up in Cardiff and educated in Whitchurch and Rhydfelen Secondary School, Gwyneth left Wales to study English literature at Girton College, Cambridge. "The places important to you are not always full of happy memories", says Gwyneth of her memories of being a student at the college.

Now back there as a Fellow, Girton College is the first of the poet's choice of three places. Gwyneth's other places are Ystrad Fflur and the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.
