3 Lle: Meic Stevens

The little Pembrokeshire village of Solva inspires the lives of the people who were raised there, according to the well-known Welsh pop, folk and rock singer Meic Stevens.

Meic Stevens has made a substantial contribution to the Welsh music industry but in the programme viewers will learn more about his childhood in Solva and his interests away from the microphone.

After decades of performing and touring around Wales and beyond, the singer now lives on Vancouver Island in Canada. He admits that he enjoys experiencing different ways of life by moving around frequently. This programme was filmed ahead of his life-changing move to Canada and visiting the three places of influence in his life for 3 Lle was a way of bidding farewell to Wales…for now.

"I don't long for one place," explains Meic. "I've been travelling from one place to another all my life but I don't long for Solva. That's probably down to the fact that I travel so much but in an odd coincidence, I'm always drawn back to my home village."

We'll also learn about Meic Stevens the artist. His journey includes a visit to the peaceful Plas Glyn y Weddw art gallery in the Lleyn Peninsula where he reveals more about his love for art. In Canada, Meic will continue to draw and paint portraits before he returns to Wales to present his first ever exhibition at the gallery.

The singer will also reminisce about his time living in Caernarfon among the Cofis, spending time on the quay and climbing the mountains near Deiniolen.
