  • No direct interest in any company or business. I am interviewed regularly (for next to nothing) on matters of legal and constitutional interest by the BBC, ITV and private directors for programmes to be broadcast on radio and television channels in Wales.

Interests in General Businesses:

  • I am a barrister in independent practice and a Recorder. As Recorder, I sit in the Crown Court and other courts from time to time. Should a conflict arise between my judicial duties and my duties as a member of the S4C Authority I would deal with it there and then and, if appropriate, declare my interest in S4C.

  • My wife and I hold shares in numerous companies on the stock market. Since a professional company runs our portfolio, we don't choose the shares nor decide when to buy and sell. I receive a pension or annuity from Equitable Life, Prudential and the Civil Service.
  • I am a friend of Arwel Ellis Owen, S4C's Interim Chief Executive. Arwel Ellis Owen has also published press releases on my behalf from time to time.
