S4C programmes are now distributed by a new joint-venture between Barcud Derwen and Parthenon Entertainment.
Trading as S4C International, the new distributor continues the tradition of high-quality Documentary and Animation sales and co-productions for the international market-place, building on the strength of the current catalogue.
The internationally-respected S4C international catalogue was established in 1982 with SuperTed, the first-ever British animation series to be broadcast by Disney in the USA. S4C's animation continues to be seen by a world-wide audience, with titles such as Sali Mali and Animated Tales of the World now joined by brand new productions such as Hana's Helpline, produced entirely in Wales.
S4C International's animation catalogue has grown to over 50 hours, winning two Oscar nominations (Famous Fred and The Canterbury Tales) and a collection of Emmy awards.
The S4C International presence in the worldwide television market has been further consolidated by our acclaimed documentaries, such as China Rises and Ancient Discoveries. Ground-breaking documentaries which have achieved high ratings for broadcasters around the world.
S4C International has a first-class reputation for working with major broadcasters - such as Discovery, A & E, France 5, ZDF, New York Times Television - on a wide variety of prestigious co-productions. The main fields of collaboration are documentaries and animation but we are constantly seeking to expand our programme catalogue with material which works for a worldwide audience.
