In the new series of Bro: Papurau Bro starting on S4C on Thursday, presenters Iolo Williams and Shân Cothi recommence their journey around Wales, meeting the people who write, edit, publish and read some of our community newspapers.
Over the coming weeks, Shân and Iolo will visit Llanberis, the Aeron Valley, Llanfyllin, Whitland, Pwllheli, London, Denbigh, the Gwendraeth Valley and Gwaun Valley.
In the first programme, the pair will begin their journey in the Brecon Beacons in Mid Wales, home to one of Wales's youngest community papers, 'Y Fan a'r Lle'. There, they meet a whole host of characters, including one of the paper's editors, Gruffydd Roberts, army Major Andy Rowlands in Brecon, and one of the National Park's wardens, Toby Small.
Iolo has the privilege of exploring Cantref Adventure Farm within the National Park, home to Star the famous pig that appeared on Britain's Got Talent in 2010. He hears all about the hairy pink star from Rhys Jones who works on the farm.
"What a lovely pig!" said Iolo about the national super 'Star'. "We as a team are so fortunate to find such extraordinary places in Wales that I've never been to before, even though I know Wales so well.
"I enjoy filming Bro: Papurau Bro and I had a wonderful experience filming in Brecon meeting a variety of real characters. I'm a keen walker but I'm also a keen diner, and there are plenty of shops and open-air cafes in the area, with interesting characters in every one of them!" he adds.
Shân meets Llinos Mair Jones who won last year's Man against Horse race, which is held annually in Brecon. Llinos was riding her horse - Sly Dai - and completed the 22-mile course in two hours and seven minutes, beating the nearest human runner by ten minutes.
In the second edition, the pair enjoy visiting the home of Llanberis's community paper - 'Eco'r Wyddfa'. Iolo hears more about karate with international champion Sara Burman and Shân will chat to local soap-producer Steffan Williams over a cup of tea at the Pen-y-Ceunant Tea Rooms.
