Eisteddfod Ffermwyr Ifanc Cymru: Digwyddiadau 10

Celebrating young Welsh talent

In Eisteddfod Ffermwyr Ifanc Cymru: Digwyddiadau 10, Morgan Jones, Mari Grug and Ifan Jones Evans will present highlights of the day's competitions as well as live broadcasts of some of the evening competitions. Hundreds of members from across the country flock to the Eisteddfod every year to take part.

Ifan has been a member of the Young Farmers' Club in Trisant, Ceredigion, since he was eleven years old and has enjoyed plenty of opportunities as a member of the organisation.

"The Young Farmers' Club gives you so many opportunities to perform - in public speaking and drama competitions and the Eisteddfod of course. Young people have a chance to develop their confidence and that certainly helped me when I went on to pursue a career in television" says Ifan.

One highlight of the Eisteddfod will be the Chairing of the Bard ceremony but Ifan is also looking forward to the light-hearted atmosphere of the event.

"Although I think the standard of competition at the YFC Eisteddfod is as good, if not better, than at the National Eisteddfod, it's not taken so seriously. I'm looking forward to having lots of laughs as some of the competitions are quite funny," explains Ifan.

There will be plenty of merriment with comedy duets and sketches going hand in hand with recitation and singing contests. These include the solo from a musical and the mixed choir competitions. But which county will come out on top this year?
