Noson Lawen

Noson Lawen Tawe

Swansea's stunning National Waterfront Museum will be the striking location for this Noson Lawen special. Versatile entertainer Roy Noble, folk group Mynediad am Ddim and the highly acclaimed tenor Rhys Meirion will be among the performers in Noson Lawen Tawe.

Comedian Ifan Gruffydd of Tregaron, Ceredigion will compere the evening's entertainment. He'll present performances by the Morriston Orpheus Male Voice Choir and Einir Dafydd, the Pembrokeshire singer who won S4C's WawFfactor competition in 2006 and performed the winning song at the 2007 Cân i Gymru/Song For Wales competition.

Noson Lawen Tawe was filmed as part of the Tyrfe Tawe Festival, which has become an annual event since its creation in 2004. During the programme, we will hear about the festival from one of its founders and organisers, Dai Bryer.

There will also be a chance to see some of the other events which took place during the festival, including performances of nostalgic music by rock band Crys and singer Neil Rosser, as well as a folk evening with bands 9Bach and Y Gentle Good.

"This programme will be a golden opportunity to enjoy a feast of song and laughter from some of the best singers and comedians in the country," says programme producer Hefin Elis.
