Salon Imogen

Salon Imogen

Big Brother star Imogen Thomas has just opened her own salon in Cardiff. TV viewers can find out how and why the glamorous brunette from Trimsaran, Llanelli went about realising her dream in this special programme.

Imogen's Nails opened its doors in the Roath area of the city in July and television cameras followed the former Miss Wales in the months leading up to the opening of the salon, capturing the worries and the excitement of starting a business offering nail treatments.

The 25-year-old 'babe' from the land of the Scarlets first came under the media spotlight during the 2006 Big Brother reality TV show when she and fellow Welshman, Glyn Wise, from Blaenau Ffestiniog became friends and spoke together in Welsh on the series.

Since Imogen left the famous house, she's worked mainly as a model, but gradually she became more and more keen on the idea of setting up her own beauty salon which she hopes might develop into a chain of salons.

Imogen explains: "I had no experience at all of offering nail or beauty treatments, hairdressing or anything like that. Up until now, I've just been a model who takes an interest in these things."

The cameras follow Imogen, her boyfriend, Swansea and Wales footballer, Matt Collins, her mother Janet and her closest family and friends as they work their fingers to the bone to turn the dream into a reality.

We follow Imogen to a beauty fair in London where she meets product sellers and we see how she goes about planning, furnishing and decorating the salon herself. We also see the fun and frustration of arranging the launch party which she hopes will attract a number of stars from the world of entertainment and television. We also see how Imogen goes about marketing the salon during her time as a 2008 Miss Wales competition judge and by inviting three Ospreys and Wales rugby stars in for a beauty treatment!
