Huw Jones, who lives in Llanfairfechan, studied at the Chelsea School of Art and has exhibited his work in England, Scotland and Wales.

He hadn’t studied Lowry’s life and work in detail until he was invited to take up the Byd o Liw project. He says, “Since starting on this project, I’ve become an admirer of his work. He was an interesting person and used paint in a very interesting way too.”

Huw has his own definitive style – a weed plays a central part in all his landscape pictures which usually interpret both the urban and natural landscapes around the A55 road on the North Wales coast. A weed plays a central part in his Byd o Liw picture, as he likes to paint pretty roadside weeds or flowers which are usually ignored by people.

Huw’s new works will be exhibited to the public as part of a travelling art exhibition.
