11 year-old Ben Thomas, a pupil from Ysgol Gyfun Rhydaman, has been chosen to voice the main character in S4C’s new cartoon series, Ben 10.
Ben 10 follows the exciting adventures of Ben Degwel who discovers a strange alien device inside a crashed meteorite. He soon discovers that he can transform into 10 different alien beings, each with unique powers and abilities.
As Ben learns to control these new powers, he decides to use them to right wrongs and fight evil. His grandfather Macs and cousin Gwen are there to keep him in check and bail him out of trouble when he needs it.
Janet Aethwy, series producer, says: “Ben Thomas’ voice and character suits the role of Ben 10 perfectly. The energy and enthusiasm in his voice is priceless, which are vital factors to voice that kind of character.”
This isn’t the first time for Ben to provide the voiceover for children’s programmes. When he was 8 years old, he voiced the nursery series Wibli Sochyn y Mochyn on Cyw.
