Actor John Pierce Jones has fulfilled a lifetime ambition and has bought a sailing boat. But there’s one problem. John doesn’t know how to sail.
In the two part series Codi Hwyl on Wednesday and Thursday, 11 and 12 July, we’ll follow John as he turns to his friend and experienced sailor Dilwyn Morgan to show him the ropes before realising another of his dreams – to sail around the entire coast of Anglesey.
“There is a long history of sailing in our family and I’ve always felt drawn to the sea. My grandmother lost two brothers at sea and perhaps I would have become a sailor too if I hadn’t sworn to her that I wouldn’t,” says John who was brought up inAngleseyand whose family history contains a number of captains and sailors.
