Dudley Newbery

Since the successful Casa Dudley series in Italy life has been hectic!

The search for a location for the new series in Spain started in December. Initially I visited Rioja and Navara- areas renowned for their wonderful wines and their local delicacies.

The Urdd cooking competition started in March and was a great success, with schoolchildren across Wales.

Again this year I was part of a team of experts who judged the Great Taste Awards competition in London. In Wales I was on the Gwir Flas panel of judges and I also judged at the World Cheese Competition in Dublin. All wonderful experiences which, unfortunately, did not do much for my figure!

Another event which I attended was the Aberaeron Fish Festival, always worth a visit, as it offers the opportunity to cook fresh fish, so fresh that some of the fish are still moving! If you haven't been before, then next year make the effort - I can assure that you won't be disappointed.

This year, like every other, has also been full of events promoting the new Casa Dudley series. As well as the numerous cookery displays organised across Wales by S4C, the last being at the Llangollen Food Festival, I also cooked paëlla for 300 people at the National Eisteddfod!
