Cyngerdd Elin Fflur

Celebrating a singing career which shows no sign of slowing down

Enjoy an evening of singing, entertainment and glitz in a special concert with Elin Fflur to celebrate ten years of performing.

Cyngerdd Elin Fflur will see her perform some of her favourite songs, some of which have played an important role in her life during the past decade. Joining Elin on stage will be fellow performers and friends Tara Bethan and Tesni Jones.

Cân i Gymru

Elin will take us through her career which began in 2002 when she sang the winning song in the Cân i Gymru / Song for Wales competition.

"It's been an incredible ten years," says the singer from Anglesey. "It's been great from the beginning until today. But, I think that winning Cân i Gymru was the best experience because it was the first thing I did in public. Nothing will ever feel quite as good as that."

The concert is an opportunity for Elin to thank and pay tribute to those who have helped her in her career. These include the composers Rob Reed and Caryl Parry Jones, who have written several songs for her, Arfon Wyn composer of the winning Cân i Gymru song, and her mother Nest Howells - who was a member of the seventies' rock group Brân.

If Elin was born to be on stage, can she imagine doing any other job?

"No, I can't see myself doing anything else. Since I work freelance, I often ask myself during quiet periods what would I do apart from singing? Music is my life and I love touring Wales meeting new people. It's an exciting way of life," says Elin, as she looks forward to a busy summer of travelling and performing at festivals, including a special concert at the National Eisteddfod. She also plans to release new songs over the summer.
