Llangollen is set to be filled with buzz, colour and fun with the start of the annual International Musical Eisteddfod. S4C's team of presenters will be right at the heart of the festival to ensure viewers can enjoy the atmosphere of this unique event.
S4C's presenting team at Llangollen this year will be Nia Roberts, Alwyn Humphreys, Trystan Ellis-Morris and Mari Grug - and they're looking forward to the festival.
"Last year was my first time as a presenter at the Llangollen Eisteddfod and it was wonderful - one of the best experiences I have had in my career so far," says Trystan, who comes originally from the Gwynedd village of Deiniolen and now lives in Cardiff. He is also a presenter with S4C's Cyw service for younger children.
"It's gearing up to be another memorable festival. There's so much to look forward to," says Gareth Williams of production company Rondo, responsible for S4C's broadcasts from Llangollen. "The colourful procession, of course, and then the International Children's Day on the Tuesday and new folk competition on the Friday. A lot of tickets for the Eisteddfod field have already been sold, so it's sure to be a particularly busy and colourful day."
"The highlight will be the prestigious Choir of the Year competition on the Saturday evening, which will be shown on S4C. Viewers can also see highlights of Russell Watson's concert in a couple of weeks on S4C when his special guest will be the young singer, Faryl Smith. This will be Russell's first appearance at the Llangollen Eisteddfod."
