Presenter and singer Elin Fflur meets one of her all-time musical heroes in the latest series of S4C music show Nodyn.
In the new eight-part series, Elin comes face-to-face with Cerys Matthews, former lead singer of Catatonia, who's currently promoting her new album Paid Edrych I Lawr.
"I've admired Cerys Matthews since her days fronting Catatonia so I was really nervous about meeting her. But she was lovely and she has an amazing and powerful voice."
In the second programme of the series, Cerys will perform a selection of songs, including some from her latest album, at Theatr Colwyn, Colwyn Bay.
"It was a privilege to be able to see her as she practised and performed. Cerys is an incredibly talented performer and her latest album is great. She's been a source of inspiration to me," admits Elin.
The series also follows Elin on a musical pilgrimage to Bardsey Island with band Cowbois Rhos Botwnnog. Elin, originally from Anglesey, says it was a memorable experience as this was her first-ever visit to the island of saints.
"Bardsey Island is a beautiful place," explains Elin. "You lose every connection with the real world when you're there. There's no electricity, no phone signal - it reminded me of a Welsh paradise. It was quite an experience travelling to the island in a small boat, just me, the crew and Cowbois Rhos Botwnnog- it was scary! Luckily the weather was fine or we would have had to spend the night on the island!"
In the first programme, Elin introduces live performances from Sibrydion in Penrhyn Castle, Meinir Gwilym in a café in Benllech, and Geraint Løvgreen a'r Enw Da perform at the home ground of Caernarfon Town Football Club - the Oval. Among the stars performing during the series are Dafydd Iwan, Gwibdaith Hen Frân, Ryland Teifi, Gwyneth Glyn, Meic Stevens and Mynediad am Ddim.
