Occupation: Connoisseur and consultant about the Provence cuisine.

Usually children are born in a hospital or in a bedroom, but Guy Gedda was born in a kitchen! His parents and grand parents were cooks and restaurateurs.

Guy Gedda trained as a confectioner/patisserie and cooked in Marseille for a while. He was then the chef cuisine in the family owned restaurant in Bormes les Mimosas.

He used to be a cookery teacher at the 'chamber of commers' at the chamber of agriculture in Var. He is also the consultant for the Escoffier foundation and the Master cook of Le Var.

From 1987 until now he is a worldwide ambassador, connoisseur and consultant about the Provence cuisine and the author of many books. One book that will be released in Britain in August 2007 will be called Provence Cookery School; it has 350 pages in the English language and has 7 different chapters - 1. Products, 2. Meat, 3. Fish, 4. Italian influences etc...There are also 50 recipes from Guy Gedda in the book.
