Marathon Eryri 2010

Snowdonia is one of the most picturesque locations in Wales with a stunning backdrop, and home to Wales's highest peak, Snowdon. But the pain and adrenaline take precedence over the spectacular views as we follow the highs and lows of Europe's most challenging race, Marathon Eryri.

The course will challenge its runners to the very limit. During the 26 mile run, competitors will climb to the heights of Snowdonia's tallest mountains, run through its villages and follow a track leading to Llanberis and the finish line.

The Presenters

S4C will broadcast extensive highlights of the race with Morgan Jones leading the presenting team and John Hardy and Dafydd Whiteside Thomas commentating.

The race is the pinnacle of months of training and the programme follows a cross-section of runners in their race preparations, during the race and as they cross the finishing line. It will give viewers the chance to learn what drives the runners to take part in such a physically demanding race and hear their hopes for the competition.

"Each year, there's a certain thrill for us working at the marathon. As the runners begin to assemble ahead of the race, there's a feeling of expectation with the tension at an all-time high," says Morgan.
