MEICAL THE MAITRE D'
A cheeky new addition to this year's series will be Meical Owen, who stole the show in outrageous fly-on-the-wall documentary Procar Pinc, which followed six gay people to the Sydney Mardi Gras. Meical will add his own unique 'je ne sais quoi' to the show as the all-knowing, all-seeing Maitre d'.
Have you got any tales to tell about the contestants?
There was one guy on the show, I won't name him but I was totally convinced he was gay. I said 'Are you sure you don't want to come on a date with me instead?' and he gave me a big slap on the bottom!"
Was there a difference between the girls who were competing and the boys?
I think the biggest difference was that the girls were a lot fussier. Quite often the girls didn't like the boy who was choosing. I remember one week the girl that got chosen really hated the boy. She thought he was a real minger. She asked me to go on the holiday with her instead!
Was there any tension between the contestants?
There was tension now and again. One time, there were three boys waiting to be chosen by the girl and after the first one was rejected, one of the others turned to me and said 'I hate him, ya know'. Supposedly there was history between those two!
So, did you fancy anyone during the series?
Oh, yes! There was this gorgeous lad from Swansea - he was a model called Gareth. I asked him if he'd model his pants for me!
What is Michelle, the redhot tranni, up to these days?
Well, to tell the truth, Michelle only existed for one night when I dressed up as a girl in the final episode of Procar Pinc. People keep coming up to me saying "I didn't know you were a tranni Meical" but I'm not!
