I've just bought Freeview HD equipment, how do I get English commentary?
S4C Clirlun as a service offers a choice of commentary in Welsh and English for some sports. With Freeview HD equipment, you need to choose a language preference, so make this selection whilst setting up your new box or television. If you wish to change language settings at any time, you can do so through using your remote control. Follow the instructions in your manufacturers' manual and onscreen.

How can I get Freeview HD?
You can receive Freeview HD by either buying:
- Freeview HD receiver (together with a an HD Ready television)
- Freeview HD recorder (together with a an HD Ready television)
- or Freeview HD television
What is High Definition and how will it affect S4C viewers?
High Definition television offers a much clearer pictures than the current service. By watching the new channel, you can watch all S4C programmes with up to four times more detail.
When will the new channel be available to us?
The new channel will be available in some parts of Wales from the end of April. The rest of Wales will be able to receive it by the end of July.
How can we watch the new channel?
You can watch the new channel free if you have a Freeview HD receiver. You will not be able to watch the channel on Sky, Freesat or Virgin.
Do I need to change the aerial?
No. If you are happy with the signal that you currently receive, you will not need to change your aerial.
Is there another way of watching the channel without a Freeview HD receiver?
No, but by buying the Freeview HD receiver you can watch the new channel as well as up to 50 channels and other digital services.
How much will it cost?
The Freevie HD receiver currently costs approx. £150 but it is expected that costs will lower over time. After you buy the equipment there will be no additional costs.
What is Freeview+ HD?
Freeview+ HD includes all Freeview HD features but also allows you to record series and programmes.
Will the new service be available outside Wales?
No. Channel 4 HD won't be available on Freeview HD in Wales either.
What accessibility services will be available?
The majority of digital equipment includes special features, inlcuding subtitles, audio description and sign for people with audio or visual impairments.
