Codi Canu Series 2

In 2006 four brand new mixed choirs from the four Welsh Rugby regions (The Scarlets, The Dragons, The Ospreys and The Blues) were formed to compete in the first series of Codi Canu. As winners the Dragons received the honour of singing the Welsh National Anthem on the Millennium Stadium pitch before the Wales v England Six Nations match in March 2007. This year and as a part of the second series of Codi Canu our four choirs will return, however they will face a new challenge in the formation of a 5th North Wales choir as they compete to sing the anthem at the Millenium Stadium before Wales versus France on March the 15th accompanied by The Regimental Band of The Royal Welsh.

Supporters of the Newport Gwent Dragons, Llanelli Scarlets, the Ospreys, Cardiff Blues and North Wales will compete under the guidance of their regional captains, Brynmor Williams, Ray Gravell, Rowland Phillips, Gareth Edwards and Robin Mcbryde

Our cameras will be filming the progress of all the choirs every step of the way. The rehearsals have already begun, and all the photos, news and songs for you to practice will be available right here as the competition hots up.

Codi Canu has returned to the terraces!! Watch the second series of the programme that captured the nation's imagination on S4C from the 26th of January. With more singing, excitement and tougher challenges this series promises to be bigger and better ! - Programme timetable

Our four choirs (The Scarlets, The Dragons, The Ospreys and The Blues) will return this series to represent their WRU region under the batons of their fantastic choirmasters. However they will face a new challenge in the formation of a 5th North Wales choir who'll be doing their level best to topple the Dragons' crown. The series finalé this year will take place at the Millenium Stadium before Wales versus France on March the 15th, but all the choirs better watch out as maestro Owain Arwel Hughes returns as series judge and he is expecting more from the choirs this time.

Once again we will be cutting the choirs to 80 members for the final. With vocal ability and a shining personality going a long way to get a place for newcomers, loyal former members can rest assured that their places are safe from the outset!
