Beti George

Beti George is originally from a village called Coed y Bryn in the old county of Cardiganshire. Music played a big part in her home life with her father raising songs from the pews as he led the singing in the local chapel. Music was her favourite subject in Llandysul Grammar School, so much so that she decided to go on and study it at Cardiff University in her first year.

Beti’s television background is as a presenter. She presented BBC news programmes for S4C for over a decade. But it was presenting music programmes during the same period which was her release from the pressure of the day job. She considers being part of Codi Canu a big challenge; she doesn’t quite know why she accepted it! Her career as a reporter for the BBC started in Swansea so having the opportunity to go back to the Swansea Valley, where she spent years working amongst the people – ‘the nicest people in the world’ – is one of the reasons she took up the challenge.
