Eilir Owen Griffiths has established himself as one of the most dynamic conductors in Wales. He conducts three choirs; CF1, Godre’r Garth and Trinity College. His main choral achievements include many awards from the Urdd and National Eisteddfod, the Youth Choir and ‘Côr Cymru’ in 2005 and 2007 and ‘Côr yr Wŷl’ (‘Choir of the Festival’) at the National Eisteddfod in 2005.
As well as competing, Eilir has prepared choirs for various important events such as the opening of the Millennium Centre, a community performance of Carmina Burana in St David’s Hall, a Concert to celebrate Trinity College’s University Status and entertainment before several International matches at the Millennium Stadium.
Eilir’s day job is as a music tutor and cultural organiser for Trinity College, Carmarthen and he is also the Artistic Director of Trinity College’s Arts Festival. When Eilir isn’t working or conducting, he spends his time composing music and has accepted many awards for his work including ‘Tlws y Cerddor’ in the 2008 National Eisteddfod in Cardiff.
