Codi Canu Live Final - Members of the Tawe Valley Choir
The “Live Final” and competition between all four Codi Canu choirs will be held at St. David’s Hall on Saturday 27th of November. We hope that you have a spectacular night and thank you for being part of this series!
We look forward to seeing you all there – EVERY VOICE COUNTS!
Buses have been arranged to take you to the concert on Saturday the 27th and bring you back to Bishop Vaughan Catholic School, Morriston the same evening.
We will provide you with a hot supper on the Saturday night. Coffee, tea and water will be available throughout the day. You will, however, need to bring your own drink and a packed lunch.
What you will need to bring:
Drink (bottle of water) and a packed lunch (snacks if you wish) Copies of your Music Please bring your outfit ready for the concert, but DO NOT travel in it. Your outfit should be all black with a blue accessory (tie, bowtie, necklace, earrings, scarf, etc.)
Schedule:
11:15: Meet at the Car Park of Bishop Vaughan Catholic School, Mynydd Garnllwyd Road, Morriston, SA6 7QG. Park in the bus bay at the school which can be accessed from either entrance on Mynydd Garnllwyd Road or Caemawr Road.
11:30: Board buses which will leave Bishop Vaughan Catholic School and take you direct to St David’s Hall.
12:30: Arrive at St David’s Hall.
If you are making your own way you will need to arrive at St David’s Hall at 13:00pm promptly for your rehearsal. Please do NOT be late or the choir will lose its rehearsal slot.
13:30: Rehearsal with Eilir Owen Griffiths & Beti George.
14:00-15:00: Time for Lunch and further rehearsals backstage if required.
15:00: Mass Rehearsal with Owain Arwel Hughes & Orchestra.
17:00: Evening meal (hot food, 2 different options and 2 different vegetarian options. You will need to provide your own food if you have specific dietary requirements other than vegetarian.) *There will be a TV in the eating area so that you can watch the Wales v New Zealand game.
18:00: Change into your concert blacks with blue accessory. We will show you where the dressing rooms are on the day.
19:00: You will be taken backstage to prepare to go onstage.
19:30: Audience arrives.
20:00: Live Concert.
22:15: End of Concert.
23:00: Bus will collect you and take you back to the Bishop Vaughan Catholic School the driver will inform you beforehand where exactly to meet him. (Or continue with your evening as you wish. You will need to sort your own transport back home after 23:00pm – You can’t leave your cars here overnight. The gates will be locked.)
The school have asked that as it will be late when you return that you be respectful of the residents by disembarking quietly and leaving as quietly as possible – Thanks in advance for your co-operation with this.

INVITATION TO FAMILY & FRIENDS: 4 November 2010
There will be an evening for friends & family to come and hear you sing on Thursday 4th November in the Vestry of the Tabernacle Chapel, Morriston starting at 20:30pm.
Your rehearsal in the Tabernacle Chapel, Morriston will start at 19:30pm as usual, then friends and family will be welcome to arrive at 20:30pm to listen to you giving a short performance to them, for free, before the final night of the big concert.
Remember that tickets are available for family and friends for the Finale on Saturday 27th November from St David’s Hall directly – there are only a limited amount of tickets, so make sure you order them soon. Tickets are available from the Box Office on 02920 878 444 or on-line www.stdavidshallcardiff.co.uk. Tickets are FREE for adults, children and concessions.
One final thing – please would you let us know, if you haven’t done already, if you will or won’t be attending the mass rehearsal of all 4 choirs in Mid Wales on Sunday 21st November.

Greetings – You will take part in a singing challenge on, Friday 22nd of October, at the Eisteddfod Gadeiriol Felindre
All choir members will be expected to attend if possible. You will be performing at the Eisteddfod Felindre after the chairing of the Eisteddfod and the judge Euros Rhys Evans will be giving you your adjudication.
The Tawe Choir will be singing 2 of the following pieces so be prepared for each of them: Lacrymosa, Blaenwern, Y Cwm, Tangnefeddwyr.
We will pay your entry fee at the Eisteddfod, but you will need to present a Boomerang card to gain admittance which will be given to you on the bus.
What you will need to wear and bring:
Please wear all black with a blue accessory (tie, bowtie, necklace, earrings, scarf, etc.)
Drinks
Snacks (if necessary)
Music for the above-mentioned pieces in black music file.
Note: Please eat before arriving at the Eisteddfod. There is no guarantee that food and drink will be available at the Eisteddfod upon your arrival.

18:00pm: Arrive at Tabernacle Chapel for a rehearsal
18:50pm: Board the Bus
19:00pm: Bus departs Tabernacle
19:20pm: Arrive at Felindre Village Hall, SA5 7NA – “Welfare Hall”
19:30pm: Go straight to the Hall and take your seats
*20:00pm - 20.30pm: Chairing of the Eisteddfod
*20:30pm: Tawe Choir performace
21:30pm: Travel back to Tabernacle Chapel
21:45pm: Arrive at Tabernacle Chapel

*9:30pm – 10:30pm: Choirs compete - the actual time each choir competes will be determined on the day of the Eisteddfod.

11:15pm: Bus pickup; return to the Tabernacle Chapel.
12:15pm: Arrive at the Tabernacle Chapel.
