Gwyn Thomas
Prof. Gwyn Thomas discusses his heroes with Heledd Cynwal and reveals their influence on his poetry. His choice of films from the past includes the work of his boyhood friend, the naturalist Ted Breeze Jones, who was responsible for nurturing Gwyn's lifelong interest in the natural world.
Other important figures in Gwyn's life are also seen - the dramatist and politician, Saunders Lewis and one of Wales' most famous footballers, Trevor Ford. However, the greatest influence on the academic and poet has probably been the community of Blaenau Ffestiniog and he chooses archive film of the town's proud slate quarrymen and factory workers.
