Hedd Wyn

Hedd Wyn

The first in a new series of Cofio with Lisa Gwilym presenting classic archive programmes.

Hedd Wyn or Ellis Humphrey Evans, the First World War poet, is remembered in this film from 1967. The shepherd from Trawsfynydd died tragically young on the battlefield before he was Chaired in the 1917 Eisteddfod.

His girlfriend and friends recall their friendship with the poet and explain the difficulties Hedd Wyn encountered as he strived to become a Chaired Bard.
