The echoes of the singing have faded, and the curtain has fallen on Côr Cymru 2009. The quality of the choirs' performances in the splendid final will stay in the memory for some time to come, proving that Wales is still a musical nation to be reckoned with. All the very best to each choir, and long may you sing.
Islwyn Evans, conductor, Ysgol Gerdd Ceredigion Children's Choir:
"Competing in the final of Côr Cymru was quite a challenge for both choirs after their success in the semi-finals. They all had to work even harder for the final because we knew that the standard would be so high. It was an unforgettable evening and there was a very special atmosphere in Aberystwyth. The boys of the youth choir were very happy for the children's choir - there's a very friendly rivalry between them."
The youth choir is preparing for a busy few months with concerts at the Royal Albert Hall and the Cornwall International Festival pending. The children's choir are set for a break to concentrate on exams, but will be back in the summer to take part in more concerts and eisteddfodau.
