Drives A cronky Volvo but it’s dependable and does the job.
First car Having had my first pay cheque for filming Coleg, I bought a black and gold two-door sports Mini Cooper. Then I got a Buick Electra V85.6L – an American car – and I thought I was great – but it was a left-hand-drive! The dog (mongrel) loved it and he used to accompany me on drives but it used to freak those that came towards us right out because it looked as if it was the dog in the driving seat!
Learned to drive Like many others, I learned to drive before I was 17. When I was a young lad, I had relations that farmed and I used to drive the tractors and machinery on the farm. I learned to drive around Cydweli and Carmarthen. The first time I tried my test the examiner told me at the end of the test that I was a good driver – but a word of advice – do your best to keep the rest of your body inside the car. In those days, it was cool to drive around with your elbow hanging outside of the window and the other hand on the steering wheel! So I failed the test because of that. But I passed the second time.
