The Character

Character - Del

Word to describe the character - Lonely

Go on... She’s the only one that keeps the garage ticking over. She’s a straight-talking woman and is forthright in her opinions. She’s in her 40s and in has reached a difficult time in her life. She has no children, husband or anything in reality to hold onto. There’s quite an interesting dualism to her life – she’s so organised in her work but her own life is in pieces and one big mess often turning to alcohol. She has a close relationship with Balders and is quite dependant on him but her life is a mess. Her husband, Jimmy has left for a younger woman (Emma) and she still wants him back after everything he’s done to her – although sh’es not willing to admit it.

Why did the script appeal to you - Interesting situations, gripping storylines. Good character.

What’s it like to be in c&i - Enjoying every minute. All of the crew get on with eachother. Nice to be filming out in the countryside (Vale of Glamorgan) and we’re like one big family living in a cottage. We can sit out in the garden between scenes practicing our lines. The script is excellent and I feel that the concept is great and original. There are funny scenes but there are a lot of absurd and surreal things happening to people – but we all find ourselves in those kind of situations from time to time don’t we.

Memorable scene - Every scene in Bili’s office when all of the cast are there – very difficult not to laugh!

Favourite character - Balders because he’s hopless, desparate but likeable

Cowboy or Indian? - Indian
