Jason Mohammad broadcasts in Welsh from the Eisteddfod
Broadcaster Jason Mohammad will present in Welsh for the first time from the National Eisteddfod.
Jason, a popular face and voice on English programmes on BBC television and radio, will present items from the festival on S4C's nightly highlights programmes, produced by BBC Cymru.
He's excited about the busy week ahead, which starts on Saturday 31 July. "I'm really looking forward to it," says Jason who was born and brought up in Cardiff and who now lives in the city with wife Nicola and their children. He learnt Welsh at secondary school.
"I've visited the Eisteddfod many times, of course, and have presented from the Eisteddfod maes for Wales Today and Radio Wales, but this will be the first time for me to present from the festival in Welsh.
"I'm looking forward to the whole experience, meeting people, and the atmosphere. I know that I'm going to be busy but I'm sure that I'll have some interesting items to present on S4C's nightly highlights programmes."
Rhun ap Iorwerth will present those programmes, while Huw Llywelyn Davies, Sara Gibson, Morgan Jones and Mari Lovgreen will be on hand to lead us through the day's activities and explore the Eisteddfod field, the 'maes'.
Jason is glad to see the Eisteddfod visiting the area of Ebbw Vale.
"I believe it's very important for the Eisteddfod to visit an area which isn't naturally Welsh- speaking. I know that the people of the area have been working extremely hard to prepare for the Eisteddfod. The Eisteddfod will give something back to the community."
