The perfect start to a summer of events

Barley Saturday is the first event that the Digwyddiadau '10 series will feature as we travel throughout Wales visiting a variety of locations.

Popular presenters Morgan Jones and Mari Grug will join in the fun at Barley Saturday, meeting the organisers, exhibitors and the crowds who have come to enjoy a day out.

The event holds fond memories for Mari, who was brought up in Mynachlog Ddu 12 miles from Cardigan.

"There are so many colourful characters in the Cardigan area. I'm looking forward to be in the thick of it and to sharing that excitement with viewers at home," said Mari.

Cardigan High Street will be packed as a parade of the prizewinning horses, old vehicles and machinery thunder through the streets. The event is traditionally held to celebrate the arrival of spring and the end of the barley seed sowing season.

During the series, S4C will also be visiting the Nefyn Show, Royal Welsh Smallholder and Garden Festival in Builth Wells, Festival of Hope in Northop, Flintshire, Big Cheese Festival, Caerphilly, Mela Festival, Cardiff and Anglesey County Show.
