The S4C events team is back on the road this week with reports from two local events. We'll get a taste of two very different festivals in Caerphilly and Caernarfon - the Big Cheese Festival and Gŵyl Arall (Another Festival).
Caerphilly is best known for its cheese and its magnificent castle, the largest in Wales. Every July, the town holds an event which brings these two together - the Big Cheese Festival - and this year S4C will be at the event.
The festival is held within and around the castle. It features entertainment including street performers, historical re-enactments, music, dancing, a traditional fair, folk dancing, falconry, fire-eating and troubadours. There is also an impressive food and drink tent selling everything from cakes, wine, spirits, sweets, pickles and of course, cheese! There's also a cooking demonstration from Dudley Newbery using local produce.
In Caernarfon, the festive atmosphere is also buzzing with Gŵyl Arall visitors enjoying arts and crafts, music, literature, film and comedy.
Caernarfon is transformed as some of Wales' leading musicians, including Race Horses, Yr Ods, Gai Toms, Meic Stevens and Geraint Lovgreen, perform in various locations around the town. Another highlight is DJ Nia Medi's interview with Howard Marks and Rhys Ifans about the recent biopic of Marks' life.
Mari Grug and Morgan Jones will present the programmes and they are thrilled to be visiting festivals and events around Wales this summer.
Mari says, "A lot of hard work and organisation goes into these events and it's great that S4C is giving them a platform. I'll be presenting from Caerphilly and Morgan reports from Caernarfon. I'm really looking forward to being part of the excitement and I hope the viewers at home can share the atmosphere."
