- During the series of Cwm Glo Cwm Gwyrdd, Iolo is looking for a project to leave a positive environmental impact on the Valleys for the future.
- Iolo was born in Builth Wells, Powys, in 1962.
- Iolo worries a lot about his carbon footprint because he travels so much with his work. He drives around 30,000 miles a year and flies regularly.
- He also does a different kind of flying in his spare time – paragliding. His eldest son goes with him.
- Iolo's favourite meal would be curry and a beer. He's not a fan of wine and can't stand fancy restaurants.
- Iolo and family recycle everything they can. They throw away very little household waste and reuse loads, especially the boys' clothes.
- Before becoming a star of radio and TV, Iolo worked for the RSPB, protecting birds and their environment.
- His favourite leisure activities are walking a Berwyn mountains, and playing the odd game of rugby and football.
