Where do you think your obsession for clothes comes from?

I think my obsession with clothes begun when I was a little girl as I grew up in a home with a mother and two sisters who adored clothes. I would often watch my mother dressing up to go out in the evening. My sisters and I always shared clothes, we liked the same things and there wasn't much difference in the age.

Would you say that you follow fashion then?

I don't follow fashion to the extent that if something new came out into the market that I would have to buy it straight away. But I do have a real interest in the fashion world and often buy Vogue magazine to see what types of clothes are in fashion. I've been reading Vogue ever since I was a little girl. My mother's community nurse who used to visit frequently used to bring old Vogue magazines for me to read.

What about your clothes now, what do you like?

I like clothes that you buy to go out at night, elegant clothes, because they make you feel more special.

The year I married was the year Princess Diana got married. Princess Diana adored eye-catching dresses, the meringue style! But these types of dresses didn't interest me.

One day I came across an advertisement in a magazine for a shop in London named David Fieldman. David Fieldman specialized in antique style dresses. I was lucky because the day I visited the shop David Fieldman was there. The shop was full of beautiful dresses. I fell in love with one particular dress and that was the dress that I brought.

If you had to describe the feeling that you have of seeing materials or a piece of clothing that you like how would you describe it?

I love seeing and feeling clothes of good quality.
