What do your clothes mean to you?

I like to feel confident in what I wear and comfortable too – from my shoes, to what I do with my hair, I have to feel that I am happy with what I see. I admit that I love dressing up and I like to be the first to wear something or put a particular top and trouser combination together – I like putting my own stamp on things. I’m very happy to stand out. I definitely have to stand out.

Emily Tucker

Where do you buy your clothes?

Anywhere, from River Island to Peacocks. I buy things from the high street as well as from small boutiques in Pontcanna, Cardiff. I think it’s really important that you know your own body shape and I think that a shape that pulls in at the waist is very good for smaller girls like me.

Emily Tucker

This is a stunning dress, where did you get this?

I wore this for my eighteenth birthday party. It was a lovely night so I’m sentimental about this one; I’ll never get rid of this dress.

Emily Tucker

Do you have to wear anything special when you go to an audition?

It depends on the character. If I’m going for a character that’s younger than me, I have to think of something that will not make me look too sexy or mature – maybe a pair of jeans and t-shirt. I went for an audition for the third High School Musical film recently, so I had to look quite American, and I went for the ‘squeaky clean teen’ look.

Emily Tucker

How was it to go for an audition for such a famous film?

It was good because it was an audition where you had to dance, sing and act. When I came out I was so sweaty, but it was good to do the audition as it was so much fun.

Emily Tucker

What do you wear from day to day?

To go back and forth from work, or if I want something comfortable to wear around the house, I’ll wear hoodies. This jumper is so thick and comfortable, I wear it nearly every day! The High School Musical auditions were held in Pineapple Dance Studio, and I bought this after the audition so it’s got sentimental value.

Emily Tucker

This jumper is a bit of fun isn’t it?

I bought this from David & Goliath – their clothes are quite quirky with jokes on the front. They’re not to everyone’s taste, but I think they’re quite funny and their style is a bit different.

Emily Tucker

Where would you wear this flowery jumper?

This is from a Roxy shop. It’s a really comfortable top to wear to work with Ugg Boots and joggers.

Emily Tucker

As well as hoodies, you’ve got loads of shirts haven’t you?

Yes, I have a few shirts. This is an Abercrombie and Fitch one and it’s really comfortable to wear. It’s really warm considering it’s a shirt. Abercrombie and Fitch has become really popular now, everyone is wearing their shirts and polo shirts.

Emily Tucker

This is a nice jacket, when would you wear this?

I’d wear this jacket over a t-shirt to go for lunch or something. It gives the outfit a personal touch and makes it a bit smarter.

Emily Tucker

Do you enjoy shopping?

I love buying new clothes – I think I’m a bit obsessed! I just really like the feeling of walking down the street with a shopping bag with new clothes in it. I think ‘yes’, I’ve got something new. But it doesn’t have to be expensive.

Emily Tucker

This black and white dress is fabulous, where did you get this?

I got this one from Peacocks for £15 – a bit of a bargain buy! I do follow fashion, but try to put my own mark on it too.

Emily Tucker

Do you think your style will change as fashion changes?

I’m very sentimental with my clothes, but my style also changes – so things stay in my wardrobe and more things are added. Nothing really leaves the wardrobe!
