Where does your interest in clothes come from?

When I was a child, my friends and I decided to make our own clothes label and designed different things. It was very silly looking back now! That’s when I started to enjoy designing and discovered that I liked doing it.

What kinds of clothes do you own?

I have a lot of clothes and a lot of colour; I’ve actually gone quite crazy with colours at the moment. I buy a lot of my clothes form Primark or in the sale at Topshop, I’ll buy something cheap and just add a top or a jacket.

What kind of course are you studying?

I’m studying fashion and clothes in college just outside Newport. It’s a two year course where we get the chance to make our own designs. We also study fashion history and fashion through the decades. It’s a lot of fun and a chance to let my imagination run wild. If I pass I hope to go on to University in Somerset. I like the fact that I have the option to do something different.

Who’s your favorite designer?

I like Vivienne Westwood, her clothes are quite crazy. I also like Laura Lees who’s doing some work for Topshop at the moment. She uses a lot of embroidery on plain clothes to make them interesting. But I’m more interest in looks and styles rather than any designer in particular.

What’s your favorite outfit?

I bought this dress on sale Topshop and it was a little too tight for me, so I added this stripe at the side to make it just that little bit bigger. I think it looks nice, and breaks up the colour.

Have you handmade a whole outfit?

Yes. I had this pattern for a prom dress for my Prom a few months back. It’s a simple design so I dressed it up with this wrap which I bought in the sale.
