What did clothes mean to you when you were growing up?

Mam used to make all my clothes, and her own as well, but she was very conventional and she hoped that I'd grow up to be conventional too - but I didn't... I liked different things, and if I was completely honest, I liked drawing attention to myself.

Hannah on her appearance...

You might see me in Tesco some days looking a right mess, cos I can't be bothered on that particular day. But then there are other days when I wake up in the morning and think to myself, 'it's bordering on the glamour today' and then I go all out.

Is there a decade where you think 'Yes, it's that period's style I really like'?

I love clothes from the forties, and the twenties too. I also like the Edwardian style, they have a special look, very elegant. They believed in the idea of an 'ensemble'. You had the dress and then you had all the accessories - the gloves, the bags, the shoes, and they all matched. It was a much more complete outfit than what we wear today I think.

Hannah on the duffel coat...

I had one through college, but didn't wear one after that. And then about two years ago I was in Paris and that's where I found this, and I had to buy it.
