Is a dream come true for you to own your own clothes shop?

Yes, I’ve wanted my own shop since I was a little girl. I always loved make-up, hair and all of that stuff. I was interested in fashion and clothes – altering clothes if they didn’t fit properly or if they were the wrong shape. The shop is full of clothes that suit my taste, I find it difficult choosing clothes that I don’t like. Other shops have a variety of clothes but I only sell one style really.

What’s the most expensive thing you have in the shop?

The most expensive are the Victoria Beckham jeans, they’re the Rock and Republic ones. They’re £350. These are my favourite pair. I bought these before I even had the shop and they are what made me stock them in the shop. I love them.

Are you sentimental about your clothes?

These are the only two dresses I’ve kept, only because they were expensive and they’re gorgeous! They’re Moschino dresses. I went on a shopping trip to London and bought them at Harvey Nichols. They both fitted me perfectly at the time so I had to buy both! The black dress was around £500 and worth every penny and I think the white dress was around £400.

Which is your favourite item of clothing?

This is my favourite at the moment. I like Karen Millen’s clothes. There’s only downfall with her clothes, if you wear it to a wedding there’s a chance someone else will have exactly the same. I wore this dress to a wedding last year with red heels to punk it up a bit.

Why do you like wearing corsets?

I love corsets. They take a few inches off your waist and give you a lovely shape. I sell these in the shop and as soon as they came in I had to have one. It’s gorgeous on, a beautiful fit. So I have it in a lot of different colours. If you go back to the ’80s and look and the bands that had women in them, like Heart and Vixen, they all wore corsets with their chests hanging out! But corsets are very fashionable at the moment.

Is there pressure on you to always look well dressed?

You have to try. But I think it comes naturally to me because I like putting on my make-up in the morning and doing my hair, I enjoy it all!
