Trained as an actress and singer, Lowri Ann has acted on stage in Welsh and English. During the eighties she was a member of pop bands 'Shock' and 'Tightfit' and this was an important decade for Lowri's clothes and image. How did you discover your personal style?

Lowri: I have had a wonderful life and a lot of brilliant experiences and when you look at some of the costumes or clothes, there are memories. I've always liked fashion; mum likes buying clothes so maybe I took after her.

Lowri: When I lived in South Kensington, I used to go to Kensinton Market and there were antique clothes there and I started buying things like cowboy boots. I used to walk down the street with spurs on the cowboy boots.

Lowri: I wore this blouse for Top of the Pops and I haven't worn it since. The compilation was called 'Back to the 60's' and it reached number 4 in the charts!

Lowri: I really like hats. I still wear a lot of them today. I've one that I used to wear whilst travelling with P & O cruises. This one's a policeman's hat that I bought from St Petersburg, Russia.

Nia: You look very authoritative in the Russian hat!

Lowri: Well thankyou. They tried to stop me from getting through customs, but I avoided them and ran onto the ship so that they couldn't follow me onto the gangway. My Grandmother owned this one and I found it in the farmhouse where my Grandmother and Mother were born. It's an original one from the 1920's. To be honest, I've never worn it, but I'd like to wear it for a wedding or something.

Nia: And this was your wedding outfit?!

Lowri: Yes, short skirt, jacket and a black and white hat!

Nia: Where did you get this original Fictorian dress?

Lowri: Well, whilst I was part of The Players play in New York, I was lucky enough to wear this dress. To be honest, what actually happened was that the costumes guuy told me that the place was about to close, so he knew that all of the costumes would have to go and he knew I liked it. So, he said to me one day, "you have to keep this one" because I'd worn the dress so much, and that was that, sorry Players Theatre. But that's what happened!

Lowri: I've cleared things and kicked myself afterwards. This dress was fantastic. It was a Vivienne Westwood dress and last year, I don't know why, I just sold it, I put it in Christies Auction House which is an amazing place to find pieces from big designers. Then, I remember seeing the dress about six months after selling it on Kate Moss, and I knew it was mine, because there weren't many of them around. But there we go!
