From seeing your room I can tell that you're quite a collector aren't you?

Yes I like to collect trinkets. Over the years I've gathered a nice little collection of things. When it comes to vinyl I find it aesthetically pleasing - I love it when the needle goes down on the record and all the geekness that goes with it! Some things that most people might find mundane are of interest to me.

Does that mean that your style is 'geek chic'?

I would say that I am more geek than chic, because I like to collect Star Wars memorabilia, games, cards, and stickers. I've always been like that, since I was a child.

Do you collect clothes?

Yes I do. Like with everything else, I can't throw them away. Once I've bought an item of clothing I find it hard to get rid of them because of their sentimental value. I like the whole retro sports look and I also like the 80s clean-cut look.

These shoes are full of holes, do you still wear them?

Mum's been trying to get me to throw them out for a while now, but I can't get rid of them. They're such a nice fit. I like to wear them in the summer, and feel the wind against my toes! I don't like to spend a lot on clothing; I try to keep it under about £20.

Why does vintage and second hand clothes appeal to?

I think the appeal is the fact that you've found it yourself, and you've not paid as much for it. There's a chance that you'll pass someone on the street wearing exactly the same thing, but they'll have paid twice the amount for it! For example I have a jumper that's 100% cashmere, and I only paid something like £8 for it. Even though there's a hole in the sleeve you can't go wrong for £8. I also have a stripy Ralph Lauren shirt, I paid £10 for it as opposed to the fortune you would pay in a shop.

Does the fact that you are colour blind cause you problems when you get dressed in the morning?

I usually try to stick to dark colours, but when I go for brighter colours, that's when I start having problems. I remember buying white winkle picker trainers, and my girlfriend turned around and asked me "Why are you wearing baby pink shoes?" I'd worn them for two weeks thinking I was 'it'!

This jacket certainly is different, what's the story behind it?

I must say, this jacket is a gem. The material is Tyveck, which is used to make suits for astronauts when they go out to space. But I don't think this jacket has been designed for space expeditions! It has a zip down the back so that I can be opened all the way down.

Do you have a favourite article of clothing in your wardrobe?

This navy blue Adidas jacket is my favourite. I can wear it to go out, or I can wear it casual during the day. It's a bit small for me now; the sleeves are a bit short. But I can't get rid of it - I'll keep this forever.
