Noel Hulmston moved to Nefyn after retiring, bringing all his clothes with him. Noel has a keen interest in clothes and a penchant for bow ties among other things, makes for a very interesting and eclectic wardrobe indeed!
Is it true to say that your bow ties are a stamp for every outfit?
It is to some extent. I don't know why I like to wear bow ties but I've been wearing them constantly over the years.
Are they the real bow ties that you fasten?
No, I have to admit I just use ready-made bow ties.
Tell me a little about the clothes you wear to go out shooting.
If I go to Anglesey with the farmers you don't want to go out in smart clothes. You need waterproofs, waders, because it's bad if you wait in the registry if it's raining. You want to feel comfortable, safe.
If I go shooting pheasants in Scotland I wear smart clothes - gentle brown and green colours. And if you're shooting in the estuary, you wear camouflage clothing because you don't want the birds to see you. And when I'm shooting deer I wear bright orange clothing. That's for health and safety reasons, because lots of people go out shooting deer.
Do you have one favourite item of clothing? A piece of clothing that you would be sad to lose?
My old hat from Harrods which was given to me by my wife, although I've had another one made for me by Alexander James because I like it so much. My friends know if I'm not very happy because I turn the cap around, so the peak is at the back. They know to watch out then, cos I'm not very happy!
