My first memories of shopping was accompanying my mum as a child. I can't remember a single time when I saw an item of clothing and thought 'Oh I like this'. They were never very positive experiences for me.

In Japan and Korea, the kimono is the traditional costume, and sometimes in a museum you would see a kimono that was worth thousands and thousands of pounds. That was the possession they valued. In the West we think of our homes as properties or possessions, but over there a kimono would cost much more than a house. Since they experience so many earthquakes, tsunamis and the like, the home has never been considered something long-term, but the kimono on the other hand, was something you could take with you if anything were to happen.

Well, they started off by looking at colour - skin colour, eye colour, hair colour, then they moved on to think about which colours would suit your personality and your style. Then, based on all this information, they decided on your style.

The shirt is the most important item of clothing for a man because it's right next to your face, so it's imperative to get the colour just right. It doesn't matter so much about the colour of your trousers or your pocket handkerchief or whatever but the right shirt colour is very important.
