How would you describe your style?
Classical with a contemporary twist!
Do you have a lot of one style in particular in your wardrobe?
Yes – I’ve a lot of black in my wardrobes!
Do you have any specific order to your wardrobe?
Winter and summer clothes are kept separately, and I’ll move them around from one wardrobe to another every season. I’m extremely organized and like seeing my clothes looking as if they were still in a shop!
Do you keep clothes for a long period of time without wearing them?
Some items will stay for a while in the wardrobe before being worn – usually, because I’m waiting for the right occasion!
Do you think men are as aware as women are about fashion?
No, most men are not aware of fashion. They can’t see how you can have fun and enjoy clothes – they are completely unimaginative.
Who inspires you fashion wise? Do you admire a particular star's fashion sense?
I don’t look for inspiration from anybody – except the designers themselves. I know what I like and I know what suits me. My favourite designer at the moment is Betty Jackson (who has had a revival in the last few years), Jean Muir and Amanda Wakely. Then, there are less expensive labels such as Day, CDCK and other companies from Denmark.
What kind of a shopper are you?
I shop a lot at the start of Spring/Summer and at the start of October/Winter. I arrange my shopping, and buy pieces that I know will be classics for years. Usually, they’re expensive. I’ll then buy accessories and other pieces which are fun and less costly, and I enjoy mixing everything together. I’ll buy a complete look rather than individual pieces. A lot of thought goes into the process.
Your favourite shops?
I’ll only shop in two shops on the whole – Body Basics and John Ian in Cardiff. The shops know me and I know them. I don’t have the patience to spend hours walking around shops – I’d rather go to one place where I’m sure to find something that I want.
Did you ever have a fashion disaster? Is there one still lurking in your cupboard?!
What’s a fashion disaster?! So, I never had one! Although I do have a few items that haven’t been worn much, but I wouldn’t call that a disaster. I love clothes – although, they are not the most important thing in life.
