Tregaron, 2 March
Viewers... and listeners evening!
Last night, at the Talbot in Tregaron, we were there to listen - to listen to our viewers. And, in their own inimitable way, the Cardis grasped that opportunity.
An hour soon became two as the audience shared with us their appreciation of the S4C service and their concern for its future. 'Better representation of the 'local'', 'Improved standards of programmes', 'Cyw is a real treasure'... real concern for the channel that is so precious to them.
It was good to have an open and honest discussion with the heart of our nation. However, as we were rightly reminded by one of our viewers, Wales has more than one heart and our challenge, therefore, is to ensure that we listen to the heartbeats of other areas of Wales too in the future.
Glenda Jones is a member of the S4C Authority. Here she describes an evening that gave viewers an opportunity to voice their opinion on S4C programmes and services.
