Meet the presenters

Coblyn

I really enjoy gardening, as you all know, especially if I can get the garden ready before Dwmplen Malwoden! Anyway, I went outside to rake leaves, and I saw a little hedgehog wrapped up warm in the leaves. I had the book MYMRYN BACH O’R GAEAF, and read it there. Later I went to buy plants and saw the book BEN Y GARDDWR. Well, I had some fun reading that book after. Do you like gardening?

Dewi Pws

You know, there’s only one thing better than reading a story on DARLLEN ‘DA FI! – reading your own story on DARLLEN ‘DA FI!. I wrote the story DEWI, DWPSI A’R DREIGIAU a while ago, and it tells the story of a little boy called Dewi who realises one day that all the dragons have disappeared from Wales’ flags! Imagine it! And that was just before a very important football match between Wales and England. I wonder if Dewi, with the help of his best friend, Dwpsi, will manage to find them all?

I never thought I’d ever read a book whilst laying on the branches of a tree, but that’s exactly what happened when I read DAWNSIA, DILWYN LINDYSYN. I never thought that I would be telling a story about motorbikes either while three local boys practiced their skills behind me. The book is called OLWYNION TWM TWRCH, and it’s a fun book – I like the funky music!

Plismon Puw has been my hero for a long time, so I was very pleased when I had a chance to read PLISMON PUW A’R GLAW MAWR. I went to Aberystwyth Police Station and read the story in a police car whilst waiting for Constable Simon Griffiths to take me to Llanddedwydd to see the man himself. And you’ll never guess what happened then – I went in the car with the siren on and the blue lights flashing. That was a brilliant journey!

As Welsh-language Children's Poet Laureate for 2006, poetry is very important to me so I chose to read UN DRWG DRWG YW EDWYN because the whole story rhymes! It's a story about a naughty rabbit - to be honest, the rabbit is a bit of a bully - but even the naughtiest of rabbits can change, with some persuasion, of course!

Huw from 'O, na, y Morgans!'

Well, I didn't know what to say when they asked me which book I wanted to read for this new series, but when I saw WINI'R WRACH, I knew straight away that I was going to enjoy it. It's a great story about a funny witch who lives with her cat in a black house, but with the help of Mali, the house is very colourful by the end of the story. I'd forgotten how much fun reading is. I'm going to read lots and lots of books from now on.

Jac y Jwc

Hello there, and how are you today? Isn’t it lovely, that I’m able to read nice stories to you in this great series, and I can go on trips in the little red car. But for MAE MALI EISIAU MWY, I got to drive Pry Bach Tew’s taxi – yes, really! – and I flew a kite while reading ARHOSWCH I FI. But the very, very best thing was reading BATH MAWR COCH – in the bath!

Isn’t Christmas a lovely time? A time for the whole family to be together to celebrate, to eat, and of course to read. But before the big day, you need to buy presents for everyone, and that’s always difficult isn’t it? I had done really well this year, except for one person – my little nephew, Joni Soch. He has everything, you see, like the little pig in the story CRISPIN, ROEDD POPETH GAN Y MOCHYN HWN. But I had some inspiration by the end of the programme – thanks to Crispin.

Lowri a Alun Williams

We enjoy working together especially if we can play football as well, and that's exactly what happened when we read the book Y CLEFYD PÊL-DROED. It's a story about a brother and sister, and because we are also brother and sister we knew exactly how the characters in the book feel. We enjoyed playing football and scored a few goals too!!

When they asked me to choose my favourite book, well there was only one possible choice, SEREN LOWRI. And you’ll never believe, but I read it in my bed – it was a perfect bedtime story. With Christmas on the way, I decided to read UN NOSON OER. You can feel the soft little red hat on the cover of the story and on every page. Lovely!

Martyn Geraint

One of the books I read in the series is SEREN GERAINT - how bizarre - but the book isn't about me though. It's a story about Geraint having his first gold star in school - but why is he given the star? The other two stories, YR YNYS HUD and DWY DROED CHWITH are very different but they both follow exciting adventures. We filmed one story at Trefin Mill, Pembrokeshire and the other in Raglan Castle, Gwent. Two very different locations!

I had a special invitation to go to Ysgol Pendalar in Caernarfon to read my favourite story, WATSH ANWELEDIG WIL. This is the story of a little boy called Wil who ALWAYS knows what the time is even though he doesn’t have a watch. By the end, even the teachers ask Wil for the time, and they believe that Wil has an invisible watch on his arm. But one day, he forgets his watch…

Mrs Migl Magl

I used to read a lot when I was little, but there weren’t many colour pictures those days. Now, books are full of pictures, and I had a lovely time reading Y DYNION BACH OD – on the bus – and DYMUNO DYMUNO DAW’N WIR in a lovely picnic place. But my favourite story was SYNIAD DA GWENLLI GWYDD, a funny little story about a goose and her turnip seeds. Remember to watch to meet the real life Gwenlli!

Every year the Winter Wonderland comes to Cardiff, and in the middle of the fair by the big wheel, there’s an amazing ice skating rink. I go skating every year, but I’m not very good! For a long time I was scared, like the little rabbit in the story SIWAN YN MYND I SGLEFRIO, but after seeing how brave Siwan was, I’m a bit more adventurous now. Do you go skating sometimes?

Nia from 'Ribidirês'

I was cleaning the cupboard under the stairs when the crew came to film me reading my favourite story. It's strange because the book, YR ARTH YN Y CWTSH DAN STÂR, is about the cupboard under the stairs! The boy in the story thinks a bear lives in the cupboard under the stairs in his house. He believes the bear wanders around the house at night. One day, William's mum wants them to clean the cupboard under the stairs and they come face to face with the "bear"...

Now from 'Ribidirês'

Well, I never thought I’d enjoy being in the dentist’s chair, but that’s exactly what happened when I read a story about a boy called Owain who was quite frightened of the dentist. The story’s called OWAIN A DAN DANNEDD, and Owain takes one or two “friends” with him when he goes to see Dan Dannedd. Fortunately, he isn’t scared at all afterwards – but Dan Dannedd has a bit of a fright!

Pili Pala

Well, I feel very lucky to be reading SEREN Y BALÈ. This is a very special book about a little girl who goes to see the ballet Sleeping Beauty, and it’s a night she’ll remember forever. I happened to arrive early for the ballet too and saw this book on the stage, so because nobody else had arrived yet, I read the book. Oh, the dancers are so beautiful, and the music is lovely. I’m looking forward to going to see another ballet as soon as possible.

I was taking Siani Flewog over to Llanbrynmair to play the organ in the Cymanfa Ganu and I went to have a cup of tea in the café. What an interesting place, full of wooden models that can move and make a noise! I saw one model of a little green dragon and a mouse, and by their side there was a copy of the book GWICH A DRAIG. This is a magical story about a little green dragon and a mouse! I had so much fun that I lost track of time and was late picking up Siani Flewog. She was also breathing fire by then…

Sali Mali

Well, as you can imagine, I love reading, and when it’s quiet in the café. Jac Do loves listening to a story too. I’ve read lots of good stories in this series, and I enjoyed being with the ducks in GUTO A GWYN AR Y FFERM, and reading SLUMYN DWL in the circus. I’ll be ending the series with a special reading of DYNA SYRPREIS! I hope that you will enjoy them too.

Well! When the DARLLEN ‘DA FI! people asked me to chose my FAVOURITE book in all the world, there was only one choice, DAWNS MS HAWDDGAR. You see, I have private dance lessons with Ms Hawddgar and I love dancing the waltz. You can see me dancing VERY well at the beginning of the programme. Do you dance sometimes?

The Girl from Mars

I live on Mars and one day some children from Earth came to visit - it was Bili Boncyrs and all his friends. We had a brilliant time together laughing, playing and eating jelly but time just flew! Our friends from Earth had to say goodbye and go home. I'm so glad Bili has written all about it in his book, BILI BONCYRS A'R PLANEDAU. I hope they can come back to play with us again one day.
