Programme 22

On the weekend that celebrates our patron saint we heard hymns from all around Wales in the company of Hywel Teifi Edwards and Hywel Gwynfryn. Hywel Teifi Edwards led us on a special tour around the places and locations of his upbringing and life. He visited the numerous churches and chapels such as Bethel chapel and Llanddewi Church, Aberarth, Henfynyw Church, Llanilltyd Fawr and Bryn Seion Chapel, Llangennech – all are locations that mean a lot to Hywel.

We also heard a selection of hymns such as Dros Gymru’n Gwlad, sung by the Wales Youth Choir in St Asaph Cathedral, Iesu, Iesu Rwyt ti’n Ddigon, sung by the congregation at Tabernacl Chapel in Morriston, Tangnefeddwyr from Pisgah Chapel Llandyssilio, Pembrokeshire and to finish, the words of W J Nicholas, Mae’r Haleliwia yn fy Enaid i to the tune of Pantyfedwen from the Hymn for Wales event at the Afan Lido.
